Hunt & Palmer Cruise in Namibia

NATA Takes Action to Ensure Continued Use of Pilatus PC-12s in Charter

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) announced the resolution of a compliance issue stopping air charter operators from adding certain Pilatus PC-12 aircraft to their certificates. Guidance documents published today now offer charter operators a clear pathway to utilizing these aircraft.

At an NATA Air Charter Operators Town Hall earlier this year, a company alerted the association that a local FAA office had denied requests to add to their operating certificate several PC-12 aircraft intended for passenger operations. Because the Pilatus PC-12 is a single-engine aircraft, passenger operations require compliance with certain additional Part 135 regulations, including specific electrical system requirements (14 CFR 135.163(f)).

Adam Sherak joins International Jet Aviation Services as Director of Maintenance.  International Jet Aviation Services is a charter operator located in Centennial, Colorado.

Kelly Gray was hired as Regional Parts Sales Manager for Corporate Aircraft, covering the Western Regional of the United States, by C & L Aerospace.  C & L Aerospace, a division of C & L Aviation Group, has been in the aviation spare parts business since 1994.

Matt Elliott has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer of Air BP, the leading international aviation fuel products and service supplier.

NBAA Applauds Nomination of Robert Sumwalt to Lead NTSB

Sumwalt, a former member of NBAA’s Safety Committee, managed a small flight department for a utility company in South Carolina before being appointed to the NTSB in August 2006, when he was also designated vice chair of the board for a two-year term. In November 2011, President Barack Obama appointed Sumwalt to another five-year term as a board member, and Sumwalt was again designated vice chair on March 31, 2017.
