GAMA’s Pete Bunce to Address Aero Club May 21

Pete Bunce, President and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), will be the featured guest speaker at the regular bi–monthly meeting of the Atlanta Aero Club scheduled for May 21.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Bunce and his staff travel worldwide engaging regulators, policy makers and elected officials to promote general aviation and serve GAMA’s international membership of 62 airframe, avionics, engine and component manufacturers.

Recently, GAMA and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) launched a comprehensive new joint advocacy campaign called “No Plane No Gain.” The progarm is designed to reinforce the value of business aviation to American workers, policymakers, companies and communities across the U.S.

In launching the new campaign, Bunce said the contributions of business aviation to the nation’s employment, commerce, competitiveness and health were profound but not always well understood. “We are launching this new multi-media educational campaign to get the word out that business aviation is working for America,” Bunce said. “It is responsible for well over one million manufacturing and service jobs and is one of the few industries that contributes positively to our nation’s balance of trade. It is also serving as a lifeline for communities all across the country that are seeing scheduled airline service being reduced or eliminated.”

Bunce became president of GAMA in 2005 following a 26-year career in the Air Force ,where he most recently served as the Director of the Air Force Congressional Budget and Appropriations Liaison. He is an active pilot with more than 5,500 hours in various aircraft types including military F-15s and A-10s as well as civil piston, tuboprop and business jet models. He holds FAA multiengine, seaplane and instrument ratings.
