Trego Dugan Aviation Promotes Two Employees Within FBO

Trego Dugan Aviation, a Phillips 66 Aviation-branded FBO, today announced the promotion of two senior-level employees. Emad Abushaar will serve as vice president – airline ground handling, and Zachary Thompson will serve as vice president – director of maintenance.

Abushaar is a seasoned aviation professional with 26 years’ experience in the industry, including aircraft acquisitions and operations restructuring. Prior to joining the Trego Dugan team, he held positions of increasing responsibility as director of flight and commercial operations with Caribbean Sun Airlines, and director of network operations with National Air Service.

Abushaar holds a bachelor’s degree in business from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Additionally he earned an FAA aircraft dispatcher certification, and a higher diploma from the International Air Transport Association in airline and travel agency management, with specialization in flight and airport operations.

Thompson has been involved in aviation for the past 20 years, currently holding a private pilot’s license. His began his career in aviation rebuilding agricultural aircraft with Hershey Flying Service. Prior to joining Trego Dugan Aviation in 2005, he also worked as lead mechanic for Duncan Aviation and Great Lakes Airlines, maintaining its fleet of aircraft.

Thompson graduated with highest honors, earning an associate of applied aviation degree from Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla. He currently holds an FAA airframe and power plant license with an inspection authorization endorsement.
