Líder Aviação Opens a New $30 Millions FBO at Rio de Janeiro

On Wednesday (December 9th) Líder Aviação opened its new hangar at Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão/SBGL) in Rio de Janeiro. With an infrastructure of 10,000 square meters, the R$30 million FBO will be the most modern in Latin America.

Junia Hermont (Líder's COO), Jonathon Baliff (Bristow's CEO), Cynthia Oliveria (Ground Handling Director at Líder Aviação)

"The hangar capacity varies according to the aircraft size, but we can have, for example, up to 10 large aircraft simultaneously", says Cynthia Oliveira, ground handling director at Líder Aviação.

Also according to Ms Oliveira, Galeão Airport offers a complete infrastructure that is ideal both for national companies interested in basing aircraft in Rio de Janeiro state capital, and for foreign operators.

"We have noticed the lack of space to receive large business aircraft in Rio de Janeiro, and this was one of the reasons to invest in the hangar.  In addition to the already expected demand, we will have, next year, a large movement of business aircraft due to the Olympic Games", she points out.
