Gill Aviation Ramps Up for Big Game Aircraft Traffic

Gill Aviation CSR and Line Service Staff ramping up the for the many activities planned for a big game including a watch party for flight crews.

Gill Aviation, located in the Houston, Texas, area, is making final preparations for a busy Big Game weekend with an anticipated record number of aircraft flying into the area for the event.  

"The planning process for this big game started several months ago in order to make sure we can provide the best possible customer service experience," said Jag Gill, President of Gill Aviation. "Every customer will want special treatment and a timely departure, so we've added experienced personnel, extra fuel trucks, tugs, tow bars and auxiliary power equipment. It's really quite a large undertaking."

In addition, David Wayne Hooks Airport (DWH) undertook a multi-million dollar capital improvement program that included resurfacing of runways, taxi-ways, adding guidance lighting and improved electronic controlled security gates. Gill Aviation and Hooks Airport also worked with the FAA to expand control tower operations to 24/7 and special aircraft routing within the 30 mile imposed Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for the event. Gill Aviation is currently taking aircraft arrival reservations.
