Desert Jet Sponsors First STEM Field Trip for Coachella Valley Students

Desert Jet, the premier full-service business aviation company based in Greater Palm Springs, California (KTRM), is proud to sponsor the first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education field trip for elementary and middle school students from the Coachella Valley to Discovery Cube Orange County in Santa Ana, California. The field trip to the science museum is part of Desert Jet’s ongoing commitment to educating and inspiring the next generation of students while elevating the aviation experience for the community.

School District, 100 students from the Las Palmitas, Saul Martinez, and Toro Canyon Elementary and Middle Schools will travel to the science museum on August 25th, 2022, and spend the day with their teachers engaged in fun, hands-on science-based exhibits and activities designed around the theme of Travel Through Space with a focus on aviation.

Students will explore the Solar System Encounter and physics lab to experience interactive science activities related to flight, such as the Paper Airplane and Straw Rocket exhibits. The Discovery Cube education team will also extend the program to develop a science curriculum for Coachella Valley teachers to continue STEM education in the classrooms.

Many elementary students will transition to Desert Mirage High School, giving them a head start in the school's aviation program and connection to Desert Jet's shadowing and internship programs for career development opportunities in business aviation.
