Business Aviation Marketing Company Forms Video Unit
/The Coleman Group remains a progressive entrepreneur by adding a new video capability to its marketing communications tool kit.
This high-end innovated step makes the Coleman Group unique among other aviation public relations companies in offering this video service. Granted, there are other video companies, but they don't specialize in business aviation and are often 50 percent more expensive.
The Coleman Group has always been on the cutting edge of meeting difficult client challenges. With more than 33 years of aviation-related experience, the company's staff offers a unique blend of creative talents. Airport Business magazine featured a story on how the Coleman Group solved Monaco Air Duluth's marketing quest to gain a greater share of international tech stop traffic.
Why Add Video Capability
To launch this video venture, the company forged a new Trans-Atlantic relationship with UK film producer Cameron Productions and purchased the same equipment that director James Cameron used for Avatar.
Here is the first HD video showcasing Ocean Sky Corporate, LTD in Prestwick, Scotland:
The video was embedded in an e-mail sent to more than 3,000 schedulers and owner/operators worldwide.
Cost comparisons of creating an HD video show can be competitive with four-color print ad creation and insertion. The video project — including all shooting, scripting, editing — cost the first video user, Ocean Sky, $20,000 plus expenses.
For the Ocean Sky project, more than 11 hours of video was taken and then edited to a three-minute high-profile video. The project included all on-location shooting, scripting and licensing of the music. Clients will own the video. No contractual clause will force the client to pay for multiple usages. Unlike what sometimes transpires with photographers or video producers, The Coleman Group will not claim full property rights.
Additionally, the extensive video footage offers the client multiple other end uses such as podcasts, uplinks on a Web site to specialty prospect pitches and direct mail projects. Also, if the operator wants to change still photos or add video, that can done relatively inexpensively.
“Our initial intent for starting this new business activity was to create a marketing tool that would draw United States traffic to European and the Middle Eastern FBOs along with airport handling operations.” president Bill Coleman said. “Our immediate initial success in Europe has prompted us to seek opportunities here with U.S. owner/operators.”
“Social media has exploded, and videos are now excellent promotional tools,” he said. “But to offer your client a quality product, you need a professional film and editing crew. My company has both, and we also have invested in superior digital editing equipment.”
Videos can be targeted to feature any business aviation operation such as an FBO, maintenance, avionics, or charter operation. “Really, any business aviation activity can be showcased," Coleman said.
