Saker Aviation Services of Garden City (GCK), Formerly Firstflight, Expands Existing Facilities, Plans More Offerings

Avfuel-branded FBO dealer Saker Aviation Services of Garden City, Kansas (GCK), has
commenced expansion of its operations with a recent move into a larger facility. The
expansion comes in conjunction with the company’s recent rebranding efforts and name
change from FirstFlight to Saker Aviation Services. Based at Garden City Regional
Airport, the location currently offers a full-service FBO with charter, aircraft rental, flight
instruction and maintenance, as well as a full line-up of amenities and pilot services.  

As part of its divestiture of Airborne Inc in March
2009, Saker Aviation Services agreed to change
its company and trade name from FirstFlight.
Saker derives its name from the Saker Falcon,
one of the largest birds in the Falcon family.
Graceful yet aggressive, the Saker is capable of
diving at upwards of 200 miles per hour in
pursuit of its target.

“We selected this name for the rebranding because we felt the imagery appropriately
represented our business efforts,” said Ron Ricciardi, President and CEO of Saker
Aviation
Services Inc. 

Two additional locations have been rebranded as
Saker Aviation Services: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton,
Penn. (AVP) and the Downtown Manhattan
Heliport in New York, N.Y. (JRB). Saker Aviation
Services AVP is a full-service, modern FBO
equipped with a 24/7 Part 145 maintenance and
repair shop and first-rate amenities. The
Manhattan Heliport location serves busy
executives with convenient helicopter
transportation and tour services.

Saker Aviation Services’ GCK and AVP locations offer customers both the AVTRIP program
and the Avfuel Contract Fuel program for cost-plus rates on jet fuel.
