/Q: Why did you change the size of the Managers' World Edition?
A: We wanted to improve the directory for users and advertisers. To accomplish that goal, we made it more portable and colorful.
Size
We wanted to make the book more compact for pilots on the move. Knowing schedulers, dispatchers and cargo operators use the AC-U-KWIK Managers' World Edition as a desktop reference, we compromised with a 6 3/4 × 9-inch format that stays open on a desk.
Color
We added color (PDF) to draw attention to:
- airport information (in tan)
- ads placed by advertisers who wish to stand out more
- advertiser listings (in orange for FBOs and in blue for services ranging from avionics and charters to ground transportation and caterers)
Adding color and making the book more portable required some other changes, but we feel the book is an improvement overall. We changed the font just slightly. We also invested in thicker, brighter paper to eliminate readability issues experienced with the paper in previous editions. Although the paper quality improves readability for some people, a few customers have told us the smaller font makes the book harder to read.
