Colt Unveils EU-ETS Reporting Solution
/Colt International now offers a turnkey solution for flight departments burdened by the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS).
Colt’s Emission Reporting Program ensures that operators comply with the March 31, 2011, deadline to submit verified 2010 emissions data. The program will record, monitor, error check and safeguard all relevant flight data and then build the proper reports necessary for verification.
“These regulations are a challenge for any flight department,” said Colt International’s Flight Operations Manager, Pete Bennett. “The investments of time and manpower necessary for managing and reporting emissions data can be a big distraction. Inaccuracies or errors in the data will result in overpayment of emission charges, under allocation of carbon credits, and eventually fines or penalties. Our Emission Reporting Program is a complete turnkey solution that will take care of every aspect of an operator’s compliance requirements.”
Colt’s system is designed to be able to collect and report data even if customers are not using Colt for international trip support. In addition, Bennett disclosed that Colt’s relationships with several leading verifiers will provide access to preferential pricing.
Small to medium sized emitters wanting to outsource their compliance requirements have struggled to find a reasonable option in the marketplace.
“Many of our customers were tired of searching and asked us to provide a cost-effective solution that would satisfy their needs,” Bennett said. “We’re happy to have met that demand in time for an operator to avoid the administrative headaches that will come from ensuring their flight department is compliant by March 31.”
Bennett explained that there was no need for aircraft managers to wade through regulations, input data, fix inconsistencies and then prepare their annual Emissions report and Verification audit.
“We can do it all,” Bennett said. “With one phone call and an email, operators can now remove EU-ETS compliance from their 2011 to-do list.”
