NBAA Calls for Congressional Resolution on FAA Funding Extension Impasse

National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) President and CEO Ed Bolen issued the following statement regarding the impasse surrounding congressional approval of a short-term funding extension to maintain all employees and operations at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in lieu of a multi-year reauthorization.

"NBAA and the business aviation community urge congress to pass an extension of funding for the FAA. Although we have long said that a multi-year FAA reauthorization bill is the best way to ensure that the agency has the guidance needed for long-term initiatives including implementation of a Next Generation Air Traffic System, we also know that passage of a short-term extension of existing funding levels would put all FAA employees back to work on existing priorities, including airport maintenance and construction. We hope that congress will find a way to move toward a resolution of the impasse over the extension as quickly as possible."
