Jetex Plans Aggressive FBO Expansion in 2013
/According to Jetex president and CEO Adel Mardini, next year Jetex plans to open FBOs at Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), as well as two new locations in Europe and one in the Far East.
At DWC, Mardini said Jetex has signed a memorandum of understanding and is in final negotiations for a long-term lease on a facility in the “aviation district,” a 6.7-sq-km plot of land on the southwest corner of the airfield that will house various business jet FBOs, hangars and MROs, as well as the new Dubai Airshow facility (currently under construction) where future MEBA conventions will also be held. Jetex hopes to open its FBO at Al Maktoum Airport by the end of next year, Mardini told Aviation International News.
It also has ambitions to expand in the Americas. Since October, Jetex has been supplying fuel to international operators in domestic airports in Brazil, and next year it plans to do the same in Mexico and Columbia. In addition, Jetex wants to crack the U.S. market for international flight planning, particularly for trips from the States to the Middle East.
