Geneva Airpark: 15 years of Preparation, 3 Years of Activity
/
Geneva Airpark Facilities
Geneca Airpark has been able to meet the rising needs over the past few years for parking facilities and services for private and business aviation in Geneva.
The building was created and developed by Geneva-based architects Dominique Grenier Architectures SA, and has a particularly original design with a strong and unique visual identity on the aiport site.
The entire Geneva Airpark infrastructure covers more than 20,000 square meters, located directly in Geneva Airport, close to Terminal C3:
- 10,000 square meters of hangar space for accommodating the aircraft (length: 141 meters, door height: 22 meters, depth: 75 meters), with direct access from the tarmac.
- 7,000 square meters of tarmac
- 4,700 square meters of office space spread out over six floors
- two car parks with a total of 145 parking places
Housing Aircraft
Geneve Airpark provides parking for jets, either for long-term or for short periods.
The activity started on June 12, 2009, with initially eight aircraft that had opted for an annual contract. As of now, 30 aircraft use Geneva Airpark facilities and services annually.
The hangar has been designed to accommodate up to two Boeing 747 at the same time.
The number of aircraft that can be hosted at the same time is naturally pending on the size of the aircraft. Currently, Geneva Airpark has hosted up to 26 jets on the same day.
In 2011, it recorded more than 4,000 movements (arrivals/departures), which is up 12 percent compared to 2010.
