An International Flavor
/'Welcome news - the end of 2013 has seen a flurry of new FBO activity across the world! Recently opened or opening soon:
- In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: ExecuJet Middle East in partnership with NasJet, opened their new facility in September and will expect to handle over 3,000 aircraft movements by the end of the year.
- In Bali, Indonesia: ExecuJet have recently opened a new General Aviation Terminal at Bali, Indonesia - as part of a joint-venture with Angkasa PuraI that will see similar ventures at up to 13 Indonesian airports over the next few years.
- In the UK, Scotland: Gama Aviation have invested £3.8m ($6m) in a maintenance and executive handling facility at Glasgow International airport. The FBO opened officially last month and will be fully operational in plenty of time for the Ryder Cup and the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
- In Dubai, UAE: DC Aviation officially opened their world class FBO at the Dubai Air Show last month, at the new Dubai Al Maktoum International airport (Jebel Ali). The AC-U-KWIK team were treated to a private tour of the impressive facilities, private apron and hangar space. ExecuJet, Jet Aviation and Jetex also recently opened FBO facilities at the new airport.
- In the Caribbean: Leeward Flight Services have a December opening scheduled for their new VIP FBO facility at St Kitts R L Bradshaw airport.
- Also in the Caribbean: IAM Jet Centre have announced the opening of new FBO facilities in Grenada and Tortola (BVI). These will be opened in the early part of 2014, joining the already well-established IAM facilities in Barbados and Montego Bay.
- In Sorocaba, Brazil: World-Way Aviation is currently constructing a new hangar and FBO, to be operated by the Swissport Executive team, and opened in time for the 2014 World Cup tournament.
