Fire Safety Training Scheduled
/The training will take place in Alexandria, Va., April 10-11, in the AAAE Conference Center.
14 CFR section 139.321 (e) (1) requires airport operators to train fueling personnel in fire safety in accordance with the requirements of section 139.321 (b) (6). To accomplish this, "at least one supervisor, with each fueling agent must have completed an aviation fuel training course in fire safety that is authorized by the Administrator." Part 139.321 (e) (2) requires "all other employees who fuel aircraft, accept fuel shipments, or otherwise handle fuel must receive at least initial on-the-job training and recurrent instruction every 24 consecutive calendar months in fire safety from the supervisor trained in accordance with paragraph (e) (1) of this section." This recurrent training in fire safety is required.
Deborah Cavalcante, an FAA-approved instructor, will be leading this training. The FAA's 2012 Cert Alert for "FAA approved Fuel Safety Training Courses" lists Deborah and her Texas-based company, Aviation Training Academy, as a qualified instructor. Certificates of completion will be issued by Aviation Training Academy.
