Runway and Apron Restoration Complete

Pilots can expect smoother landings into beautiful Heber City (K36U) following OK3 AIR’s closure for essential runway and apron refurbishment. OK3 AIR, the full-service FBO serving Park City, Deer Valley and Heber City tentatively reopens on June 6, 2015, for daylight operations only; construction still continues on the field lighting electrical system. The FBO is proud to reveal a totally renovated and resurfaced runway and apron (ramp) in anticipation of the busy summer season.
The project itself consisted of three separate phases. The first phase involved totally resurfacing the entire runway, followed by a partial reconstruction.
“We want to stress that the size and location of the runway remain exactly the same,” said Alan Robertson, CFO. During this time, OK3 AIR used the closure to their advantage by choosing to replace the entire runway lighting system. Phase two consisted of completely demolishing then rebuilding the apron located outside the front of the FBO. Finally, the third phase called for demolishing then relocating the lighting vault from near the fuel storage facility to the snow removal equipment (SRE) building for visibility improvement.
“The restoration project was expansive and will be hugely beneficial to OK3 AIR customers. Now that it’s close to complete, we want to make certain that pilots are aware that we are open for business,” stated Terry Loboschefsky, Airport Manager.
“Safety and comfort are our top priorities. We are honored to be the preferred FBO in the region and strive to meet the needs of customers in every way possible. This restoration initiative was implemented to do just that. While no easy task, the end result of improving a pilot’s safety and experience here at OK3 is well worth it,” said Robertson. Clearly, there is a reason OK3 AIR’s mantra is “professionalism, precision, and pride”– the FBO’s commitment to innovating and improving the aviation experience cannot be beat.
It’s no surprise Heber City Airport is the favored arrival airport for all Sundance Film Festival guests and Deer Valley traffic. In addition to the recent improvements, OK3 AIR boasts well-appointed facilities, 40,000 square feet of heated hangar space, and a highly-trained staff with a true passion to serve.
