On Deck for Gill Aviation: 2017 World Series Traffic
/Gill Aviation, an FBO at David Wayne Hooks Airport (KDWH) just outside of Houston, is ready to take a swing at handling aircraft flying to the area when the World Series heads to Houston's Minute Maid Park on Friday.
The airport is a 35-minute drive from the ballpark.
Gill Aviation president Jag Gill says the hometown Houston Astros' presence in the Fall Classic is a "morale boost for many of our residents who are in the midst of rebuilding their homes and lives" after hurricane Harvey and the catastrophic flooding caused by the record-breaking rainfall. "Now our hometown spirits are soaring like never before," he says. "We look forward to putting out the red carpet for our game guests."
Both the airport and FBO are currently operating at normal capacity. The hurricane did not cause much damage at the FBO. Still, water issues had to be mitigated. Cleanup and opening the required teamwork.
That team effort and the Super Bowl, which also occurred in Houston earlier this year, have warmed up Gill Aviation for the World Series.
"We are in position to make sure we can provide the best possible customer service experience," Jag Gill says. "Every customer will want special treatment and a timely departure, so we are geared up and ready to go."
