Jetscape Services Sponsors and Supports the 2018 Fort Lauderdale Airshow with Ramp Space and Fuel

2018 marks the first year that Jetscape Services had the privilege of sponsoring and supporting the Fort Lauderdale Airshow. Jetscape provided fuel and parking on their ramp for aircraft that performed in the popular event.
“The Jetscape team is both excited and honored to support this wonderful event for the Fort Lauderdale community, as a celebration of aviation, and as a way of thanking our heroes who serve in the U.S. armed services. Our recently acquired satellite ramp and extensive mobile fueling capacity made our operation uniquely capable of supporting this event, while still maintaining diamond level customer service for our business and general aviation customers,” said Troy Menken, President of Jetscape Services.
Jetscape’s new satellite ramp, Jetscape Alpha, located just west of the FBO’s main terminal, made for a great location to support the event’s aircraft. This location provided ample and discrete ramp space for aircraft parking and enabled members of the media to traverse the ramp freely and without escorts by closing the fence and converting the ramp to an on/off secure area. The Airshow took place on Fort Lauderdale Beach, May 4‐5.
Jetscape supported a team of F‐18 Super Hornets during the event’s practice runs and live performances. Prior to the event, a pilot of one of the F‐18s, U.S. Navy Lt. Chris Walker, commented to local media on what the crowd could expect to experience during their performance: "They will see us flying up to speeds of about 620 knots, or 670 miles an hour, they'll see us fly upside down – we'll do loops, we'll do all sorts of high‐speed passes, and then we'll come in for a carrier break at one point and show you what it looks like right before we land on a boat."
Unfortunately, the show‐stopping U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team was forced to cancel their performance after a tragic crash in Nevada claimed the life of a Thunderbirds wingman on April 4, 2018 during a training flight.
Jetscape plans to sponsor the 2019 Fort Lauderdale Airshow, where the U.S. Navy Blue Angels are scheduled to perform.
