Airport Aviation Services in San Juan (TJSJ) Opens On-Site CBP Facility
/Airport Aviation Services, an FBO at San Juan/Isla Verde/Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, opened a new U.S. Customs and Border Protection general aviation processing facility on site in early August.
AAS built the GAF in compliance with CBP guidelines for international flight and traveler inspections, CBP says.
CBP inspection officers will be available on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, AAS says.
The FBO privately financed the new GAF as well as a new hangar, which also opened this month.
The new facilities at AAS are part of $7.5 million of improvements made in the last 24 months, president Jose Algarin Pabon says.
“The execution of projects like this one helps to place the Luis Muñoz Marín as a world caliber international airport, with a net result of economic activity and jobs for the island,” Puerto Rico Ports Authority director Anthony Maceira says.
