Shaesta Waiz of Dreams Soar to Speak at Wichita Aero Club
/Shaesta Waiz, founder of Dreams Soar, an organization that promotes aviation and the importance of STEM education to women, will speak at the next Wichita Aero Club meeting.
Waiz, the first female certified civilian pilot from Afghanistan, flew solo around the world in 2017. At her stops along the way, she met with girls and boys to inspire them about work in STEM.
With Dreams Soar, Waiz has a platform to speak as a living woman in aviation and act as a role model, one of the needs to overcome to increase the number of women in aviation that the Teaching Women to Fly Research Project has identified.
