Christopher Wray Leads Banyan into Falcon Maintenance

Chris Wray brings more than 35 years of experience to his new role as Falcon crew leader at Banyan Air Service.Banyan Air Service at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport has hired Christopher Wray as its new Falcon crew leader.

"Banyan is extremely pleased to welcome Chris Wray to our team as our new Falcon crew leader," director of maintenance Dave Valenta said. "With his more than 35 years experience in the service, inspection, maintenance and operations of corporate aircraft, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience."

Wray's experience includes positions with Executive Jet Management, Jet Aviation, General Dynamics, Continental, Mountain Air Cargo, Merlin Express, Templhof Airlines USA, E.W. Wiggins Airways and Caribbean Helicopters.

In his new position, Wray will expand Banyan’s maintenance offerings for the Falcon 50, 900 and 2000 to include A/A+, OCIP airframe inspections and unscheduled line maintenance. This capability will grow as the program matures.

“Instead of flying to other facilities, Falcon operators in the southern U.S. and Latin America now have another alternative, which may be more convenient and less expensive for unscheduled line maintenance," Wray said. "They won’t have to ferry their aircraft farther, which will save on fuel and travel costs. In addition, Fort Lauderdale is an excellent location for business and leisure activities while the aircraft is being maintained.”

The Banyan avionics team has also added the Falcon to its capabilities and has two factory-trained technicians for the F50 and F900 aircraft and one for the F2000. In addition, Banyan has purchased pitot-static test equipment and adapters, and technicians have been trained.

The Banyan avionics team has extensive installation experience on the Falcon aircraft to include DirecTV, high-speed broadband voice and data, and Flight Management systems. They can also outfit the aircraft with cabin amenities to include complex in-flight entertainment systems, high-definition monitors, Blu-Ray disc players, iPod docking stations, external cameras and moving maps. They offer "office in the sky" solutions including Blackberry/PDA wireless use, Wi-Fi high-speed Internet access, worldwide voice communications and fax capabilities. Other avionics systems available include flight deck upgrades, glass cockpits, cockpit voice recorders, flight data recorders, electronic flight bags, enhanced ground proximity warning systems, multifunction displays, satellite communications, Iridium and traffic alert collision avoidance systems.
