Myrtle Beach Aviation’s modern facility in the new general aviation terminal at Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is open.
The $4.5 million, 11,500 square foot terminal officially opened in May. The FBO formerly occupied the old Myrtle Beach Air Force Base operations facility, built in the 1950s. Though filled with history, the original facility could no longer accommodate Myrtle Beach Aviation’s growing business. General aviation is one of the largest segments of aviation in South Carolina, and Myrtle Beach welcomes almost 50,000 passengers a year.
In conjunction with its new facility, Myrtle Beach Aviation says two things — service and location — set it apart from other FBOs.
The beach and other coastal attractions are mere minutes from the FBO. The concierge staff can assist with travel planning — from car rentals to entertainment options, lodging, and, of course, tee times.
Travelers can have access to ground transportation directly at their aircraft and be on the beach or a golf course in less than one hour.
In addition, the FBO is located adjacent to the Market Common District, an urban village environment with plentiful options for dining, shopping and overnight accommodations.
To business travelers, Myrtle Beach Aviation can offer the use of its executive conference room or multipurpose rooms for larger events.
The FBO also offers U.S. Customs service for international travelers.
