Million Air Moves Into Renovated Facility in Reno
/Million Air has completed a $350,000 facility renovation and is now operating as Million Air Reno on the east side of Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Million Air had been operating as Reno Aviation on the west side of the airport until the renovation was finished. The recent move marks the beginning of a multi-phased plan to construct and transition into a new fixed-based operation (FBO) complex by 2013.
Million Air won the request for proposal in September 2010 and was approved for a 50-year lease agreement by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority board of trustees. Construction of the $20 million general aviation complex is slated to begin June 2012. Phase one of the planned development is a $10 million FBO and hangar that will be open in 2013, followed by another $10 million phase with additional office and hangar space to be completed by 2018.
“The interim facility will serve as the FBO operation until we complete the design and construction of the permanent FBO and hangar campus,” said Terry Cross, chief operating`s officer for Million Air. “Our goal is to develop new business and bring customers back to Reno by expanding hangar capacity for the airport.”
Aircraft maintenance will be available at the interim facility, in addition to other trademark Million Air amenities such as complimentary hospitality bar located in the executive lobby.
“Million Air is looking forward to building a strong partnership in Reno while making that important first and last impression on customers as they come and go from the region,” Roger Woolsey, Million Air CEO, said. “We look forward to serving all facets of the aviation community and setting a standard for service in a region where hospitality is part of the culture.”
