London City Airport Closed to Remove WWII Bomb from River
/London City Airport was closed all day Monday, Feb. 12, while the Royal Navy worked to remove and safely detonate a German bomb from World War II found at a dock during work at the airport.
The airport is expected to reopen on Tuesday, BBC News reports.
The Royal Navy planned to detonate the bomb under water overnight.
Update: Operations at London City Airport are back to normal after the closure on Monday to remove the World War II bomb. BBC News has video of the controlled detonation, which occurred a mile out at sea on Wednesday.
